The End?

Lastly, I have to prepare for the upcoming essay.

I’m still set on focusing my topic on how people are integral to making a festival.

I intend to use a lot of the information I picked up at both of the festivals I’ve attended over the past year and describe exactly how important each person’s role in forming a festival is.

The other topics of conversation in regard to making a festival can be a result of the people involved. So, I’d like to be able to break each of those topics down. Describing how people are the engine of our society and they are what make these festivals the quality that they are.


I also want to once again speak of the amazing experiences I’ve had at these festivals. As much as I would have enjoyed each session I attended, both in Bendigo and Shepparton, by myself, I enjoyed it so much more by being able to share these experiences with the people closest to me.

Just got home from my first day at SheppFest. Sadly, I couldn’t make it to the opening ceremonies but I was determined to go to as many other things as possible on the days that I could make it. My girlfriend, Alex, and I decided to make it a day trip and drive from Bendigo to Shepparton and back to have a look at everything Shepparton had to offer. After a load of car trouble, we finally managed to get on our way. This was almost like coming home for me, I used to live in Yarrawonga and would often plan trips to Shepparton with friends or family. Never A Truer Word Spoken

Went back to the Shepparton Art Festival yesterday! Had the pleasure of listening to some sick poetry with some friends. We all made the special trip from Bendigo to Shepparton just for this. I’d never actually heard any spoken word performances before so this was quite the experience. The vibe of the hotel courtyard was so relaxed, it really fit the whole theme of the festival. Everybody else was there to enjoy some poetry as well, it really completed the atmosphere. So, we’re all sitting there just waiting and the poets are all introduced. Never have I seen four more unique individuals. Their appearances and personalities all loud and confident. Not quite like the satirical representations you see in modern works of fiction, but still oddly fitting of their career choice. As I said above, I’d never been to a performance like this before. People Make The World Go 'Round

Currently, we’re between the two weekends of the festival. I’ve been using this time to decide what I want to do for my essay. When taking WIA last year at the Bendigo Writers Festival I wanted to make my topic centred around People. I felt strongly that the Bendigo Festival, and all other festivals, were as successful as they were because of the various types of people involved. When deciding which events I went to in Bendigo, I was mostly looking at the writers that were presenting. I was choosing where to go based on the people. At the end of each session, the writers would thank the audience for coming, and they would also thank the event staff that were making the whole event run smoothly. So again, the people here were the main focus for everyone.  I brought my girlfriend with me to the Shepparton Festival last weekend and I’m going again next weekend with a couple of friends.
